Catherine Tyree Flores

Catherine (Cat) Tyree Flores is an international show jumping athlete based in Wellington, Florida and North Salem, New York. With a strong string of talented horses in her program, she has found great success competing at various levels across the United States and overseas. As a professional, Cat looks forward to continuing to represent the United States on the world stage.

A lifelong equestrian from Chicago, Cat began her riding career under the tutelage of Katie Kappler. In her final junior year, she began training with Missy Clark and John Brennan of North Run, and it was there that Cat flourished into a world-class athlete. She competed in her first World Cup Qualifier at only 21 years old and her success continued as she made her senior Nations Cup debut for Team USA less than two years later.

In 2019, Cat made the transition to professional status, choosing to set up her year-round home base in Wellington, Florida. Her string of talented horses, BEC Lorenzo, Camilla Z, Newton Van Het Krekelhof, Pikeur Lareen, as well as past mounts Bokai, Enjoy Louis and Catungee, have found great success in Tyree's training program as they compete at various levels across the United States and overseas. Her list of impressive accomplishments include second place in the 2016 HITS Saugerties $1 Million Grand Prix, third place in the 2019 $130,000 Longines FEI World Cup President's Cup Grand Prix at the Washington International Horse Show, a win in the $214,000 Holiday & Horses Grand Prix CSI4*, as well as multiple FEI wins at the Winter Equestrian Festival, the Palm Beach Masters, the Devon Horse Show, the American Gold Cup, Jumping de Dinard, and the Royal Winter Fair. She has represented Team USA on five occasions, including at Hickstead and Falsterbo.
